today, daneel and me decided to make a little photowalk on our own and headed to the Europapark in Klagenfurt. andrea and horst/zeroK joined us a bit later. weather turned out fine and i made most of my shots with my Canon 70-300 4-5.6 IS USM which I hadn’t had much in use since i got it, but the pictures turned out fine!

yesterday, it was “this time of the month” – our photowalk. we met at the kreuzbergl in klagenfurt and shot around for about two hours, before a little afterwalk drink. this photowalk set a new record for participants with 19 total (and 2 dogs) – a whole lot of people were there for their first time. hope to see you soon at the next photowalk!

at first i was a bit disappointed by the weather and location, but turned out there were some great shots after all – and of course it was great fun.

(this one is very dramatic, but i only changed the color temperature and intensity in post-processing)

the flash experience:

my highlight was using a second flash (from werner) that was triggered by my camera off-shoe – i really liked experimenting with two flashes and got some pretty cool results:

here i put the flash inside the stub. with the settings, the whole picture came out this dark and i really like it. – no post processing though it was early afternoon!

this month, our photowalk took us back to the radsberg near klagenfurt where werner and me were back in march. only this time, we were seven photographers instead of two and additionally the clubs chamionship took place..

so yesterday was the fourth edition of photowalks in carinthia, coordinated through www.photowalk.at by martin. topic was nightshooting and we met up at Augustin before and then made a few shots. great fun throughout the whole time with some nice people and a great afterparty at Molly Malone’s.

georg also was with us, of course with his video camera. damn it makes me so uncomfortable, i always feel like i’m expected to say something usefull where i have to know what i’m talking about. but that’s hardly ever the case :)
